According to the FSAI, all complaints were followed up and investigated by food inspectors throughout the country.
In 2023, the FSAI’s Advice Line handled a total of 7,732 complaints and queries – an 8% increase from the previous year.
The majority of complaints were related to poor hygiene standards (31.9%) and unfit food (27.2%).
